Waiting for the River of Fire

This drawing is scanned from eight pages of my sketch book. It was done on the spot beside the Thames, waiting for the firework display to herald the new millennium.

The same documentary spirit that took me to Dianne Spencer's funeral, dragged my wife & I to take our young sons down to London for the day, hoping the eldest at least would remember something of a spectacular day...
