This parade train was made for the Valley Primary School's contribution to Cheadle's 3000 strong children's Millennium Parade.
It was designed and built by Ian Naylor and the elder children of the school. It was pulled from inside the 'boiler' by two of the biggest children. They were then able to carry the six youngest children on a platform in the cab for the one mile parade.
The main materials used were old bicycles and cardboard.
The title 'The Knotty' came from the nick name of the train line that ran through the village until the early 1960's.
